Job summary

State of Florida’s Department of Management Services is seeking a skilled Building Operations Specialist to perform complex HVAC maintenance and repairs at Fort Pierce facilities. The role focuses on keeping mechanical systems operational, conducting preventive maintenance, and coordinating with outside contractors.

The position requires five years in commercial HVAC with a current HVAC certification, EPA 608 Universal, and boiler/chiller qualifications.

Qualifications

• Five years’ experience in commercial HVAC.
• Valid HVAC certification.
• EPA 608 Universal certification.
• Valid boiler or chiller certification.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to climb stairs, work at heights and in tight spaces.
• Adheres to safety policies and training.

Responsibilities

• Perform highly skilled mechanical repairs on HVAC and building equipment.
• Inspect equipment, analyze trouble and plan sequence of repair operations.
• Maintain energy management, fire protection and security systems.
• Assist outside contractors and other staff as needed.
• Maintain maintenance reports, logs and PM system data.
