Job summary

The Florida Department of Management Services seeks a Building Operations Specialist in Ft. Pierce to perform highly skilled mechanical repairs on HVAC and building equipment.

You will inspect, analyze, plan repairs, and assist with energy management and safety systems while coordinating with tenants and maintenance staff. Required are five years of commercial HVAC experience, EPA 608 Universal certification, HVAC and chiller/boiler certifications, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Five years’ experience in commercial HVAC.
• Valid HVAC certification.
• Valid chiller or boiler certification.
• Valid EPA 608 Universal certification.
• Valid and applicable driver’s license.
• Must be physically able to climb multiple flights of stairs, climb a ladder, reach overhead, work from heights, bend at the waist, kneel and crouch.

Responsibilities

• Perform highly skilled and complex mechanical repairs on building equipment.
• Inspect equipment, analyze trouble and plan sequence of repair operations.
• Investigate complaints and equipment malfunctions.
• Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
• Analyze performance of equipment.
• Perform maintenance on HVAC systems.
• Assist with maintenance of hardware, doors, windows, restroom fixtures, and minor carpet repairs.
• Plumbing duties including unclogging drains and repairing fixtures.
• Install and repair electrical components as needed.
• Assist with Energy Management, Fire Protection, and Security Systems.
