Job summary

Harvard University is seeking a Maintenance Operator to support Facilities Maintenance Operations. The role focuses on initial response and repairs of building infrastructure, with emphasis on HVAC systems, boilers, and cooling equipment.

On-site work requires coordinating with the Area Supervisor and adhering to safety standards. Candidates must have a state HVAC license, a valid driver’s license, and at least five years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Five years of related experience in maintenance and operation of complex building system infrastructure.
• Must have experience in installation, operation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of all types of commercial building heating and cooling systems.
• Current State HVAC license (or equivalent) and valid driver’s license are required.
• Siemens experience for scheduling and setpoint adjustments is required.
• Proficiency with Windows-based software applications, MS Office, and related devices.
• Ability to read and interpret detailed plans, specifications and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Provides initial response, triage, stabilization and/or repair for all types of building infrastructure maintenance requests, with emphasis on HVAC systems.
• Inspects, adjusts, modifies, and repairs boilers, heating and cooling systems and auxiliary equipment.
• Interprets mechanical plans and prints and updates as necessary.
• Monitors and reports on the status of building systems managed by DDC technology.
• Initiates follow-up actions as required and provides customer support in all phases of maintenance.
• Assists customers on maintenance solutions and follows up on progress and status of work.
