Job summary

Henry Ford College seeks a Facilities Building Operator to manage heating and cooling across college buildings and maintain related equipment. The role uses a building automation system, performs minor plumbing, and follows emergency procedures per the Integrated Energy Master Plan.

The candidate should have a high school diploma/GED, the required boiler and refrigeration licenses, and EPA 608 certification or be on track to obtain them during probation. Shift: midnight, Mon–Fri, 11 pm–7 am.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Licenses must be obtained prior to completion of probation if not already held.
• Boiler and refrigeration licenses must be obtained as applicable before probation ends.
• EPA 608 Universal Certification required before completion of probation if not already held.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor campus HVAC systems per the Integrated Energy Master Plan.
• Perform minor repairs and seasonal preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment.
• Maintain clean, organized mechanical rooms and inventory of spare parts.
• Respond to service calls and complete CMMS work orders.
• Maintain knowledge of campus equipment and accessibility of documentation.
