Job summary

Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County is seeking a Building Maintenance Mechanic - HVAC to install, repair, and maintain HVAC and environmental systems across Parks & Recreation facilities in Davidson County. The role involves installation or alteration of HVAC, environmental, and mechanical systems, with some lighting and plumbing tasks.

The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, two years of skilled maintenance experience, and an EPA HVAC-R certification,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and two years of skilled maintenance on electrical, environmental, or mechanical building systems.
• Eight years facility maintenance experience with Metro Nashville and Davidson County and safety training.
• EPA Universal Certification (HVAC-R) required.
• Valid Driver License required.
• Accreditations earned in a foreign institute are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Install, and/or make alterations as directed to HVAC, Environmental, and Mechanical systems, some Lighting and Plumbing.
• Assist in repair and maintenance of various environmental and mechanical systems such as pumps, motors, heat exchangers and compressors.
• Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC, environmental, and mechanical systems, including filters and ducts.
• Maintain knowledge of codes, regulations, etc.
• Maintain simple work records and logs.
• Operate Aerial Lifts.
• Visit various sites to perform maintenance and transport materials as needed.
