Job summary

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with 3–5 years’ experience in estimating, engineering, construction management; or 5–7 years in controls field; or equivalent
• Prior experience with Building Automation, HVAC Controls and HVAC Systems
• Strong financial and business acumen; ability to manage projects on time and on budget

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates for materials, sub-contractors, equipment, labor, and related construction activities to support bid decisions.
• Develop detailed scope from design-build or plans for competitive bidding.
• Create cost estimates with sketches, scope definitions, exclusions, vendor quotes, and quantity take-offs.
• Price purchased equipment and ensure accuracy of quantities and configurations.
• Lead pre-bid meetings with Account Managers to review scope and strategy.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and manage cost variations through negotiations.
• Coordinate with Operations to control labor, material, and subcontract costs during pre-bid and post-mortem reviews.
