Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with 3–5 years’ experience in estimating, engineering, construction management; or 5–7 years of controls field experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Candidates without a 4-year degree are encouraged to apply; practical experience and alignment with leadership principles are valued.
• Must have proven experience with Building Automation, HVAC Controls and HVAC Systems.
• Strong financial and business acumen; history of running projects on time and on budget.
• Experience prioritizing tasks to meet tight deadlines in a high-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates including materials, subcontractors, equipment, labor, and related activities.
• Develop detailed scope from design-build plans for bidding.
• Create detailed cost estimates with sketches, scope, exclusions, and quotes.
• Perform take-off and pricing of purchased equipment ensuring quantity accuracy.
• Lead pre-bid meetings with Account Managers to review scope and strategy.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and cost risks; negotiate prices with vendors.
• Assist Account Manager with determining need for outsourced engineering and cost-control initiatives.
