Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking a journey-level HVAC technician to perform installation, operation, maintenance and repair of building systems, including BACnet and Metasys controls, at our San Diego facilities. You will test procedures, calibrate equipment, read blueprints, follow building codes, and communicate corrective actions to prevent malfunctions, energy waste or outages.

EPA certification is required or to be obtained within six months; ability to work independently and with teams is

Qualifications

• EPA certification or commitment to obtain within six months of hire.
• Journey-level HVAC knowledge and/or experience.
• Experience with hand and power tools.
• Ability to read blueprints and system diagrams.
• Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform journey-level duties in HVAC systems maintenance and repair.
• Test procedures and calibrate systems; diagnose and repair.
• Operate and troubleshoot BACnet/Metasys building automation systems.
• Communicate corrective actions to supervisor; document issues.
• Maintain punctuality and safety; ensure compliance with codes.
