Qualifications

• Journey-level knowledge/experience in HVAC and Building Automation Systems.
• Experience using and maintaining hand and power tools related to the job functions.
• Experience performing tests for systems operations and communicating repair needs to supervisor.
• Experience troubleshooting operational problems and making adjustments or repairs.
• Knowledge reading and interpreting blueprints and system diagrams.
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations, including California/UBC/fire/life-safety codes.
• Understanding of engineering fundamentals related to systems and equipment.
• Ability to work independently and in teams; communicate effectively.
• Ability to follow University policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, test and repair HVAC and Building Automation Systems.
• Calibrate BACnet/N2 architectures and Metasys programs; diagnose problems.
• Document corrective actions to prevent malfunctions or energy waste.
• Maintain attendance, meet deadlines, and participate in training.
