Job summary

Metropolitan Mechanical Contractors, Inc. is seeking a Service Controls Sales Project Manager for the Building Automation division in Rochester, MN.

The PM will own projects from planning to execution, drive sales by developing new business, and coordinate engineers, technicians, and subcontractors to deliver digital HVAC control solutions. The role emphasizes strong client communication, budget oversight, and risk management, with responsibilities spanning proposal development, subcontract

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field.
• 5+ years in project management, especially in building automation or related industry.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Proficient reading/developing HVAC control plans, wiring and equipment schematics, control strategies.
• Microsoft Office (Word and Excel); SharePoint knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan projects with comprehensive timelines and budgets; define objectives, specifications and deliverables.
• Own customer/owner/general contractor relationships; lead proposal development and presentations.
• Lead cross-functional teams of engineers, technicians, contractors, and vendors; estimate and create proposals for digital HVAC control systems.
• Serve as primary client contact; communicate status, milestones and issues clearly.
• Identify project risks; develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations and MMC quality standards.
• Monitor expenses; work with accounting to book jobs, change orders and forecast costs.
• Prepare and present regular progress reports to senior management.
• Request bids, award and manage subcontracts.
• Oversee labor of building intelligence engineering and technicians for submittals, orders, programming, graphics and commissioning.
