Job summary

Metropolitan Mechanical Contractors, Inc. (MMC) is seeking a Building Automation Project Manager to oversee Business Automation/Controls projects based in Eden Prairie, MN.

The role emphasizes strong project execution and customer relationships, with expectations to eventually secure a majority of their own work. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field and at least 5 years of project management experience in building automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, PM, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of PM experience in building automation or related industry.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficient in reading/developing HVAC control plans and wiring schematics; knowledge of control strategies.
• Experience with estimating digital HVAC control or related systems; installation management; design.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets.
• Lead cross-functional teams including engineers, technicians, contractors, and vendors to execute project tasks.
• Serve as primary client contact; communicate project status, milestones, and issues.
• Identify potential project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Monitor expenses; manage change orders and financial forecasting with accounting.
• Prepare progress reports for management and stakeholders.
