Job summary

Vertical Mechanical Group is seeking a skilled Controls Technician to join our growing HVAC and building automation team in Sterling, VA. You will install, maintain, and troubleshoot control systems for commercial and residential equipment, working with PLCs, BAS, and SCADA platforms to ensure reliable operation.

We value strong analytical skills, collaborative communication, and hands-on experience with Schneider, Siemens, JCI, or NAVSys controls.

Qualifications

• Proven knowledge of HVAC and controls systems.
• Familiarity with PLCs, BAS, or SCADA platforms.
• Experience in controls systems or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot control automation systems for commercial and residential HVAC equipment.
• Understand equipment control functions through PLCs within BAS or SCADA platforms.
• Perform calibration, configuration, servicing, and maintenance of control systems and subsystems.
• Use system diagnostic tools to perform routine updates, troubleshoot issues, and resolve problems efficiently.
