Jobot is seeking a Commercial HVAC Controls Technician to join its Lynchburg, Virginia team. This hands-on role focuses on installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining building automation and controls systems across commercial facilities.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in HVAC service or building automation, with experience in DDC/BAS platforms and open protocols. A valid driver’s license and strong communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in HVAC service, controls, or building automation.
• Experience with DDC/BAS platforms (Honeywell WEBS, Tridium Niagara, BACnet, LON, JCI).
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities with HVAC systems.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC building automation and controls systems.
• Program and service DDC/BAS platforms including Honeywell WEBS, Tridium Niagara, BACnet, LON, and JCI Facility Explorer systems.
• Diagnose control system issues, communication failures, and equipment performance problems.
• Interpret blueprints, submittals, wiring diagrams, and HVAC control sequences.
• Support startup, commissioning, system testing, and performance optimization activities.
• Work with mechanical equipment including chillers, boilers, VAV systems, pumps, and water source heat pumps.
• Modify graphics, control logic, alarms, schedules, trends, and system configurations as needed.
• Coordinate with project teams, engineers, contractors, and customers to ensure systems operate properly.
• Perform inspections and verify systems are installed according to plans and specifications.
• Order parts and materials necessary for service and repair work.
