Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a Controls Technical and Product Support Engineer to assist field teams in sale, installation and service/troubleshooting of Trane Building Automation Systems and HVAC controls.

You will provide phone, email, and occasional on-site support, develop knowledge resources, and participate in product development/testing to improve quality and service offerings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field preferred.
• 5+ years HVAC/automation experience.
• Experience with BACnet, Lon, Modbus protocols.
• Experience with YABE, Wireshark and troubleshooting tools.
• IP Networking experience preferred.
• Experience in technical support or customer service.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Languages such as French, Spanish or Portuguese are a plus.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work autonomously or in a team.
• Good decision-making skills and judgment.

Responsibilities

• Support technical problem solving for building automation systems and HVAC controls.
• Use software tools for call tracking and knowledge retrieval.
• Develop technical expertise for assigned products and BA/Controls knowledge.
• Create knowledge base content for broader use.
• Assist field/customers on projects including programming and commissioning.
• Document product defects and prioritize fixes with stakeholders.
• Lead field issue escalation review and assignments.
• Publish software service alerts for field awareness.
• Create/review product literature and assist training classes.
• Support development through case analysis and ad hoc testing.
• Assist users with permissions, remote access, and defect resolution; gather user requirements.
