Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking an experienced Lead Technical Support Engineer who will work with SBUs and technical support groups to provide technical support for existing electronic controls.

The role requires a 4-year engineering degree, extensive HVAC experience, and the ability to read electrical schematics. Occasional travel to job sites may be required to assist field technicians.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of HVAC experience.
• Thorough understanding of electric water chiller refrigeration systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
• Excellent people skills and ability to work with multiple SBUs/vendors.
• Strong written and verbal communication, mobility within the facility.

Responsibilities

• Assist technical support groups with application questions and issues; resolve problems with components and vendors.
• Identify field hardware/software issues and drive resolutions with development teams.
• Support chiller witness tests and respond to controls questions for RFQs.
• Travel to job sites as needed to assist field technicians and diagnose design issues.
• Develop general support knowledge for a broad range of Trane controls products.
• Aid in identifying support/production requirements of new products and cost-reduction opportunities.
• Meet the needs of internal and external customers effectively.
