Job summary

Woodson & Bozeman, Inc. is seeking an experienced HVAC Branch Manager to lead the daily operations of our Memphis wholesale location. You will drive branch performance, manage inventory, and develop a strong team while building relationships with HVAC contractors and commercial customers.

This hands-on leadership role requires understanding HVAC wholesale distribution, a focus on safety, and the ability to collaborate across departments to meet growth goals.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years in HVAC wholesale distribution or closely related experience preferred.
• Previous branch management or operations management experience strongly preferred.
• Strong HVAC product and industry knowledge.
• Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and employee development skills.
• Working knowledge of inventory management and wholesale distribution operations.
• Ability to understand sales, gross margin, expenses, and branch profitability.
• Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with ERP systems; Epicor Prophet 21 experience preferred.
• Self-motivated, organized, accountable, and comfortable in a fast-paced distribution environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the overall operation and performance of the branch.
• Manage branch revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, inventory, staffing, and profitability.
• Establish clear expectations and hold employees accountable for performance, customer service, and operational standards.
• Recruit, train, coach, and develop branch employees.
• Oversee counter operations, order fulfillment, receiving, shipping, transfers, returns, and inventory activities.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels and monitor stockouts, inventory turns, excess inventory, obsolete inventory, and inventory accuracy.
• Partner with Territory Managers, Commercial Sales, and Inside Sales to support revenue, margin, customer retention, and growth objectives.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with HVAC contractor and commercial customers.
• Resolve escalated customer issues promptly and professionally.
• Identify opportunities to improve branch efficiency, profitability, customer service, and operational performance.
• Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and professional branch environment.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, safety standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Review branch financial and operational results and communicate performance, risks, opportunities, and corrective actions to leadership.

The Branch Manager is responsible for managing the branch as a business unit, with accountability for financial performance, inventory, customer service, employee development, operational execution, and safety. This position works closely with Sales, Purchasing, Distribution, Accounting, and other company departments to support customer growth and company objectives.
