Job summary

CG Wood, a member of the AIR Control Concepts family, is seeking an Application Engineer in Elkridge, MD. You will support the sales team by interpreting mechanical drawings, performing take-offs, selecting HVAC equipment, pricing, and developing proposals to meet project requirements.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, strong attention to detail, and experience with HVAC systems and manufacturer selection/pricing software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required.
• Ability to interpret mechanical plans, schedules, specifications, and construction documents.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when working with large and complex construction documents.
• Ability to learn and apply manufacturer-specific product knowledge.
• Ability to learn and utilize manufacturer selection and pricing software.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Review mechanical plans, schedules, specifications, and project documents to identify HVAC equipment requirements.
• Perform detailed equipment take-offs from mechanical drawings.
• Identify equipment quantities, types, sizes, configurations, accessories, and applicable options.
• Review equipment schedules and specifications to ensure proposed equipment meets project requirements.
• Select appropriate HVAC products based on project requirements, specifications, performance criteria, and application.
