Job summary

Pike Electric, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Transmission Equipment Operator to support construction, maintenance and repair of overhead transmission systems. The role travels to various locations and may require work in different states.

You will perform safe, physical labor, assist with setting poles, stringing wire, installing components, and learning rigging and high-voltage procedures. English reading is required; CDL permit within 60 days is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in line work or related electrical field.
• Able to obtain Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) permit within 60 days of employment; CDL preferred.
• Able to travel long distances on short notice when required.
• Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Willing to work outside in various weather conditions and overtime as needed.
• Must read and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Assist with stringing overhead wire and setting poles and anchors.
• Help install transformers, switching gear, crossarms, insulators, and protective devices.
• Assist in replacing fuses and clearing faulted circuits and systems.
• Follow safety rules, operate radios, and assist with basic heavy equipment operation.
• Perform routine inspection and maintenance of PPE and company tools and vehicles.
