Job summary

Siemens Energy, Inc. is seeking a Commissioning Technician to support testing and energization of high‑voltage substations on EPC and turnkey projects.

You will collaborate with commissioning engineers, construction teams, OEMs, and client representatives to ensure safe, efficient commissioning and reliable handover of critical infrastructure. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and attention to detail, requiring the ability to manage multiple priorities in a field environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Power Systems, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 2–5 years in electrical testing and commissioning, HV substations or industrial power projects preferred.
• Ability to read single-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and protection drawings.
• Strong OSHA environmental and safety practice knowledge for high-voltage work.
• Excellent communication, organizational and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Support commissioning plans, schedules, and procedures for HV substations and energization readiness.
• Perform testing and commissioning of transformers, GIS, breakers, relays, SCADA, and control panels.
• Execute functional testing, system integration, troubleshooting, and energization with supervision.
• Coordinate with project teams, OEMs, and client representatives to support schedules and objectives.
• Maintain commissioning documentation and ensure IEC/IEEE/NERC/OSHA compliance.
