Job summary

Vertiv Corporation seeks a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA III/IV) to perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV across regional and national projects. You will lead testing activities, analyze results, and prepare detailed reports.

The role requires 7+ years in medium/high voltage testing, NETA certification, and proficiency with major test equipment. A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel are essential.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification in good standing.
• 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.
• Strong knowledge of NETA MTS/ATS standards.
• Experience with protective relays and coordination.
• Ability to read/interpret one-line and three-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• willingness to travel regionally (up to 75%).

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies: short circuit, coordination, arc flash, power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance tests on transformers, switchgear, cables and breakers.
• Interpret test results and author engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical failures under time-sensitive conditions.
• Mentor Level I/II technicians and serve as technical lead on projects.
