Job summary

Vertiv Corporation is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA Level III/IV) to lead acceptance, commissioning and maintenance testing on high-voltage power systems. This role requires extensive hands-on testing, reporting, and travel across regions.

The candidate will mentor Technicians, lead technical teams on multi-discipline projects, and ensure compliance with safety standards. Compensation is performance-driven, with extensive OT options and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV current and in good standing.
• 7+ years hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel regionally (up to 75%).

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems and equipment up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers.
• Interpret and analyze test results; author comprehensive engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor and train Level I/II technicians in the field.
• Serve as technical lead on multi-discipline project teams.
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS standards, NFPA 70E, and OSHA safety requirements.
