Job summary

Hanwha Convergence USA is seeking an experienced HV/MV Technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on substation and MV collection systems up to 500kV for utility-scale solar and BESS facilities nationwide. You will execute switching, testing, and diagnostic activities while adhering to OSHA, NFPA 70E, NEC, IEEE, and NERC standards.

The role requires strong technical expertise, safe work practices, and the ability to travel to customer sites nationwide.

Qualifications

2-5 years of HV/MV field experience (500kV and below).
Licensed journeyman or master electrician; NETA certification preferred.
Ability to read and interpret one-lines, schematics, and relay drawings.
Experience executing switching procedures under formal switching authority.
Experience with remote diagnostics and SCADA-supported troubleshooting.
Experience in utility-scale solar or BESS environments.

Responsibilities

Complete CMMS work orders accurately and on time.
Submit detailed service reports after maintenance activities.
Support warranty documentation and vendor coordination.
Maintain accurate switching logs and test reports.
Perform maintenance on substation equipment up to 500kV, including switches and disconnects.
Perform maintenance on MV collection systems (15kV-35kV) and related components.
Execute approved HV/MV switching procedures with system operators and utilities.
Install and remove protective grounds.
Support transformer oil sampling and diagnostic review.
Assist with cable fault locating, insulation resistance testing, and VLF testing.
