Job summary

Hanwha Convergence USA is seeking an experienced HV/MV Technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on substations up to 500kV for nationwide solar and energy storage projects.

Role requires strong HV/MV expertise, adherence to safety standards, and ability to execute switching, testing, and diagnostic activities in energized environments. Travel nationwide to client sites will be required.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of HV/MV field experience (500kV and below).
• Strong substation maintenance and MV collection systems knowledge.
• Ability to read one-lines, schematics, and relay drawings.
• Experience executing switching procedures with formal authority.
• Familiar with safety regulations and compliance standards.
• Journeyman or Master Electrician license.
• NETA Certification.
• Protection and Controls experience.
• Experience in utility-scale solar or BESS environments.
• Substation maintenance training completion.
• Remote diagnostics and SCADA troubleshooting experience.

Responsibilities

• Complete CMMS work orders accurately and on time.
• Submit detailed service reports after maintenance activities.
• Support warranty documentation and vendor coordination.
• Maintain accurate switching logs and test reports.
• Perform maintenance on substation equipment up to 500kV, including switches and components.
• Perform maintenance on MV collection systems (15kV–35kV) including cables and switchgear.
• Execute approved HV/MV switching procedures with system operators.
• Install and remove protective grounds.
• Support transformer oil sampling and diagnostic review.
• Assist with cable fault locating and insulation testing.
