Job summary

Aptiv's Connection Systems team in Warren, OH is seeking a Mechanical Product Engineer to develop high voltage connections and fast/charging inlet systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet automotive specs. You will drive from concept to production, validate prototypes, and work with customers, suppliers and internal teams to ensure manufacturability, cost targets and timely launches.

The role requires a degree and practical design experience, with travel as needed and strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 6+ months of experience or working knowledge of basic component design.
• Willingness to travel as required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Project, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• Ability to collaborate with people at all levels.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop cutting edge connection system technology for automotive applications.
• Expand inlet portfolio to meet OEM and Tier customer specifications.
• Ensure HV connection systems meet targets for manufacturability, cost and material usage.
• Own product design from concept to production including prototype validation and production implementation.
• Interact with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure seamless launches and communication.
• Lead or participate in design reviews and root cause analysis.
