Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 4+ years of admin/clerical experience.
  • Experience as Administrative Assistant 3+ for WA State NR agency preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Associates or higher in business admin or related field preferred.
  • Familiarity with hunter education and volunteer programs desired.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Teams).

Responsibilities

  • Provide lead administrative support for the hunter education program, including information, services, and materials to the public and instructors.
  • Serve as agency lead and contractor liaison for data and records management.
  • Conduct background checks on instructors and manage contractor relationships.
  • Manage manual and electronic records to meet legal and agency standards.
  • Oversee contract with WS Archery Association for NASP implementation.
  • Coordinate travel and process invoices; manage supplies and delegated payments.
  • Interface with instructors via phone/email to support program effectiveness.
  • Join hunter education team meetings and coordinate with regional offices on public services.
  • Lead tri-annual statewide instructor in-service training planning and execution.
  • Work in Olympia office with possible hybrid options; report to headquarters as needed.
  • Occasional travel for meetings and training; typical Mon-Fri schedule.
