Job description

Shelton Capital Management is currently hiring a Human Resources Operations Coordinator. The HR Operations Coordinator keeps our people processes accurate, confidential and on time, from onboarding through offboarding. About half of the role is HR operations: records, onboarding, benefits and payroll support, and compliance tracking. About 30% is recruiting coordination, from job postings through offer letters. The remaining 20% is light office coordination that keeps our Denver office running smoothly.

This role suits a detail-oriented organizer who handles sensitive information with discretion and enjoys being a go-to resource for colleagues.

This is a fully in-office position at our Downtown Denver office; remote or hybrid work is not available. The role is primarily desk-based and may involve occasionally lifting supply deliveries of up to 25 pounds, with reasonable accommodation available.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate new-hire onboarding: offer letter preparation, background checks, I-9 and E-Verify completion, first-day logistics, and orientation scheduling.
  • Manage offboarding steps, including exit paperwork, benefits notices, and coordination with IT on equipment and system access.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and personnel files, keeping confidential information secure at all times.
  • Support payroll by collecting and verifying timesheets, new-hire data, and changes before each payroll cutoff.
  • Assist with benefits administration, including enrollments, life-event changes, and employee questions, in coordination with carriers and brokers.
  • Track required trainings, licensing or registration renewals, and annual policy attestations, and send reminders before deadlines.
  • Help keep HR policies, the employee handbook, and required workplace postings current.
  • Prepare routine HR reports such as headcount, turnover, and training completion.
  • Respond to employment verification requests and general HR inquiries, escalating sensitive matters appropriately.
  • Coordinate performance review cycles and maintain related documentation.
  • Review employee expense reimbursements via Concur. Ensure expenses align with current policies.
Recruiting (about 30%)
  • Partner with hiring managers to clarify role needs and draft or update job descriptions.
  • Post approved openings on job boards, LinkedIn, and the company careers page, and keep postings current.
  • Screen applications and conduct initial phone screens against agreed criteria.
  • Schedule interviews, coordinate interview panels, and prepare candidates and interviewers.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for candidates, providing timely, professional updates.
  • Research, onboard and implement an applicant tracking system (ATS)
  • Maintain candidate records and pipeline status in the applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Coordinate reference checks and prepare offer letters for approval.
  • Track recruiting metrics such as time to fill, source of hire, and open requisitions.
  • Support campus, referral, and other sourcing efforts as needed.
Office coordination (about 20%)
  • Order and stock office and kitchen supplies within budget.
  • Serve as the point of contact for building management, vendors, and deliveries.
  • Greet visitors and manage visitor sign-in.
  • Coordinate conference room scheduling, meeting setup, and occasional catering.
  • Help plan small employee events and recognition activities.
  • Process office-related invoices and track office expenses.
  • Take ownership of additional tasks and responsibilities that are not otherwise assigned as needed to support the team and business operations.
Qualifications
Required

  • Demonstrated discretion handling confidential employee information.
  • Strong organization and follow-through, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel) and comfort learning new systems.
Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience with an HRIS, payroll platform, or applicant tracking system (ATS).
