Job Title: Human Resources Manager – HR Administration

Pay: $90,000 - $95,000

Location: New York

Position Summary

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for leading benefits administration, leave management, HR compliance, and HRIS-related processes while supporting payroll operations. This role partners closely with Human Resources and Finance to ensure accurate, regulatory compliance, and effective management of employee benefit programs. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in benefits administration, payroll regulations, leave management, and HR compliance practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the administration of employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and other company-sponsored benefits.
  • Lead annual Open Enrollment planning, employee communications, and system updates.
  • Lead leave management administration, including LOA tracking, employee communications, and coordination with applicable vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage 401(k) administration and compliance-related activities and reporting.
  • Coordinate COBRA administration processes.
  • Support payroll administration and related processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll and tax regulations.
  • Review payroll reports and support monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting requirements, including audit preparation and support.
  • Maintain and support HRIS records and data integrity.
  • Review internal HR policies and procedures and lead updates as required by changes in employment laws and regulations.
  • Partner with the HR Director on compliance initiatives, audits, and internal/external reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Department and leadership team to prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, and forecasting analysis.
  • Stay current on labor legislation, employment regulations, tax updates, and benefits compliance requirements.
  • Perform ad hoc projects and other duties as assigned by the Human Resources Director and company leadership.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • 3+ years of experience in benefits, payroll, HR operations, or related HR functions.
  • Strong knowledge of benefits administration, payroll processing, tax regulations, and leave management.
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems.
  • Understanding of federal and state employment laws and compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
