This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR leader who enjoys being close to the business and operating in a hands‑on environment. Our client is seeking someone who can serve as a trusted partner to leadership while also being comfortable rolling up their sleeves and managing the day‑to‑day HR needs of the organization.
The ideal candidate will have experience supporting a manufacturing, distribution, industrial, or similarly operational workforce and understands the unique challenges that come with supporting both hourly and salaried employees.
This is not a purely strategic or corporate HR position. The successful candidate will be visible within the operation, accessible to employees and managers, and comfortable handling everything from employee relations and recruiting to compliance, performance management, benefits, and workforce planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary HR partner to site and operational leadership.
- Build strong relationships with employees and managers across the organization.
- Manage employee relations matters, investigations, conflict resolution, coaching, and corrective action.
- Lead recruiting and workforce planning efforts for hourly, professional, and leadership positions.
- Oversee onboarding and help create a strong employee experience from initial hire through ongoing employment.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
- Maintain accurate employee documentation, records, reporting, and HR data.
- Partner with leadership on performance management, compensation, organizational development, and succession planning.
- Manage and support employee benefit programs, leave administration, and related employee questions.
- Develop and coordinate employee and management training programs.
- Partner with operations and leadership regarding workplace safety, incident management, and employee‑related risk.
- Analyze compensation and market data to help ensure competitive pay practices.
- Identify employee turnover trends and develop practical strategies to improve retention.
- Manage external HR vendors and service providers as needed.
- Lead, develop, and delegate responsibilities to HR team members while remaining accountable for overall HR execution.
- Provide practical, business‑minded HR guidance in a fast‑moving operational environment.
