Lead Where Hospitality Meets the Great Outdoors
Bring your hospitality HR expertise to two extraordinary National Park destinations where people, purpose, and place come together. We are looking for a seasoned Human Resources Manager who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on hospitality environment and enjoys being close to the operation and the people who make it successful.
Based on-site at Shenandoah National Park, our HR Manager will lead the day-to-day HR function supporting up to 400 employees across two locations. This is a highly visible, hands‑on role where you will partner directly with operational leaders, support employees throughout the full employment lifecycle, and help create a workplace where people can do their best work.
If you’re an experienced hospitality HR professional who enjoys being part of the operation—not sitting on the sidelines—and wants to build your career in an unforgettable setting, this could be the opportunity for you.

- Lead employee relations, providing guidance to employees and managers on workplace concerns, conflicts, performance issues, and policy matters.
- Conduct and document timely, thorough, objective, and confidential employee relations investigations, escalating findings and recommendations as appropriate.
- Lead recruiting and talent acquisition efforts, ensuring job postings remain current, qualified candidates are identified, and hiring decisions are made promptly in partnership with site leadership.
- Support the interview process for General Manager positions and, as requested, department manager positions.
- Partner with the Director of Human Resources to develop and implement programs and training that strengthen the talent pipeline and employee productivity.
- Train, onboard, and develop site HR professionals and ensure new hires receive a thorough, timely, and consistent onboarding experience.
- Oversee accurate employee documentation, records retention, and maintenance of Employee Handbooks and required compliance materials.
- Provide employees with benefits information and enrollment support, ensuring eligible employees are properly enrolled and receive clear, timely communication.
- Partner with Payroll and Housing to address employee housing, compensation, benefits, deductions, refunds, and related payroll matters.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of workers’ compensation claims, unemployment claims, legal garnishments, vacation and sick leave, and other HR-related matters.
- Partner with Corporate Management to ensure wage changes receive appropriate approval and communication.
- Maintain compliance with applicable employment laws, Company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Support the Company’s ISO management systems, policies, goals, and initiatives and fulfill related responsibilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Willingness to work on‑site at Shenandoah National Park with potential periodic travel.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and maintain strict confidentiality.
- High level of professionalism and compassion while upholding the Company’s values of respect, trust, accountability, honesty, and integrity.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS, ATS, payroll, and other HR‑related systems.
