Nature and Scope:
HR Manager to lead and manage all human resources functions in a mid-sized, non-union manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach to HR responsibilities, including recruiting, employee relations, payroll, and compliance. This role supports Dyson’s growth by fostering a positive work environment, ensuring legal compliance, and promoting best practices in employee development and retention.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Manage the full recruitment process, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and hiring. Ensure smooth onboarding of new employees to foster early success.
- Employee Relations: Act as a key point of contact for employee questions, concerns, and conflict resolution. Promote a positive and productive work culture.
- HR Policy & Compliance: Develop, implement, and maintain company HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
- Performance Management: Oversee the performance review process, including setting clear expectations, coaching managers, and ensuring timely feedback.
- Compensation & Benefits: Administer payroll, benefits, and compensation programs. Conduct market research to ensure competitive salary offerings.
- Training & Development: Create and implement training programs to support employee growth, safety, and skill development.
- Safety & Workers’ Compensation: Partner with the safety team to ensure OSHA compliance and manage workers’ compensation claims.
- HR Administration: Maintain accurate HR records, including employee files, attendance, and leave requests.
- Employee Engagement: Organize company events and initiatives to boost morale, satisfaction, and retention.
- Strategic HR Initiatives: Collaborate with leadership on workforce planning and organizational development to support business goals.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
- Experience: 3-5+ years in HR management within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
- Experience in recruitment, employee relations, and performance management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in HR software and MS Office.
- Discretion handling confidential information.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Leadership: Ability to motivate and develop staff with strong team management skills.
- Problem-Solving: Analytical abilities to address HR challenges effectively.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written skills to engage with employees at all levels.
