Job summary

Gateway Group Personnel represents a growing, privately owned construction and service organization seeking a strategic HR leader to oversee all human resources functions across multiple divisions in Memphis, TN. Reporting to the Owners, you will align people strategies with operational needs and long-term growth.

This role manages workforce planning, performance management, recruiting, employee development, and HR operations while ensuring compliance with employment laws.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 7+ years of progressive HR leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance, and HR best practices.
• Multi-location operations experience preferred.
• Proven success in recruiting, employee development, and conflict resolution.
• HRIS/payroll and Microsoft Office proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Strategic HR leadership: Partner with ownership and division managers on workforce planning, organizational structure, performance management, and culture initiatives.
• Compliance and risk: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws; maintain handbooks and policies; oversee investigations and employee relations matters.
• Recruiting and talent acquisition: Lead full-cycle recruiting for field and administrative roles, build sourcing relationships, and improve onboarding.
• Workforce development: Build training and leadership development programs and support career pathing.
• Employee relations and culture: Serve as the primary HR resource across all divisions and support engagement, recognition, and retention.
• HR operations: Manage performance reviews, compensation benchmarking, benefits administration, HR reporting, and vendor relationships.

Reporting directly to the Owners, you'll serve as a trusted partner to ownership and division leadership, aligning people strategies with operational needs and long-term growth across a multi-division business.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic HR leadership: Partner with ownership and division managers on workforce planning, organizational structure, performance management, and culture initiatives
• Compliance and risk: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws; maintain handbooks and policies; oversee investigations and employee relations matters
