Job summary

LeoForce, a California-based food and beverage manufacturing company, seeks an experienced HR Leader to serve as the facility expert on California labor and employment law. You will lead a team of HR Generalists, manage complex employee relations, and guide performance management and policy development in a fast-paced, compliant manufacturing environment.

You will drive full-cycle recruiting, partner with legal on investigations, and ensure accurate HRIS functionality and reporting.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive HR leadership experience
  • 3+ years of direct people leadership experience
  • Deep expertise in California labor and employment law (wage/hour, FEHA, CFRA, PDL, PAGA)
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the facility SME for California labor and employment law
  • Lead and develop a team of HR Generalists
  • Conduct complex employee-relations investigations
  • Coach plant leaders on performance management and risk
  • Oversee leaves of absence and accommodations (FMLA, CFRA, PDL, ADA)
  • Partner with legal counsel on workplace investigations and claims
  • Lead full-cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried roles
  • Develop and improve HR policies and programs
  • Collaborate with plant leadership on workforce planning
  • Manage HRIS and records (Paylocity)
  • Ensure postings and records compliance
  • Support training platforms (Poka, Alchemy)
  • Maintain 24/7 plant operation support

Experience: Manager

Salary: $125,000 - $150,000 per year

Job Details
  • Serve as the facility subject matter expert for California labor and employment law, including California Labor Code, FEHA, CFRA, PDL, PAGA, wage-and-hour requirements, meal/rest periods and applicable IWC Wage Orders
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of HR Generalists while maintaining high standards for HR service delivery
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for complex employee relations matters and conduct thorough, objective and legally defensible workplace investigations
  • Coach plant leaders on performance management, corrective action and organizational risk
  • Oversee leaves of absence and accommodations involving FMLA, CFRA, PDL, ADA and FEHA, including the interactive process
  • Identify employment compliance risks and develop or update policies, procedures and training
  • Partner with legal counsel regarding workplace investigations, pre-litigation matters and employment claims
  • Lead full-cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried positions in partnership with corporate HR and staffing partners
  • Support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of HR policies and programs
  • Partner with plant leadership on workforce planning and employee needs
  • Lead performance reviews, calibration processes and performance improvement planning
  • Analyze HR trends and metrics to develop solutions and support plant leadership decisions
  • Maintain accurate HRIS and employee records and utilize systems such as Paylocity for reporting and decision-making
  • Ensure required California and federal employment postings, notices, training and records remain compliant and current
  • Support employee training platforms including Poka and Alchemy
  • Maintain schedule flexibility to support employees and leadership across a 24/7 plant operation
  • Ensure compliance with company safety programs, GMP requirements and applicable GFSI standards
Qualifications - Needed
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field required
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred
  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive HR leadership experience with increasing responsibility
  • Minimum 3+ years of direct people leadership experience managing an HR team
  • Deep expertise in California labor and employment law required, including wage and hour compliance, FEHA, CFRA, PDL and PAGA
  • Experience supporting food & beverage manufacturing or another high-volume, regulated manufacturing environment strongly preferred
  • Strong experience managing complex employee relations matters and workplace investigations
  • Strong understanding of leaves of absence, accommodations and the interactive process
  • Working knowledge of HRIS platforms; Paylocity preferred
  • Proven ability to coach supervisors and managers regarding performance management, corrective action and employment risk
  • Ability to balance strategic HR leadership with a hands-on approach in a manufacturing environment
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Ability to occasionally support nights and weekends based on plant needs
