Hotel Forty Five is seeking an experienced and people-focused Human Resources Manager to lead the property's day-to-day HR operations. This role serves as a trusted partner to hotel leadership, providing guidance on employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, compliance, and employee engagement.

The ideal candidate is an approachable, hands‑on HR professional who thrives in a fast‑paced hospitality environment, builds strong relationships with leaders and associates, and is committed to creating a positive workplace culture while ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies.

What you have
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in hospitality, hotels, resorts, or service‑focused industries.
  • Experience managing employee relations, investigations, recruiting, onboarding, and performance management required.
  • Experience supporting a Marriott‑branded property or other branded hotel is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, over the telephone, and through written correspondence. This includes having the ability to influence leadership when appropriate.
  • Ability to occasionally work long hours, weekends, or holidays to support hotel operations, recruiting events, investigations, or associate activities, as required.
  • Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • SHRM-CP, or PHR certification, ideal but not required.
What you’ll do
  • Serve as the primary Human Resources partner for hotel leadership and associates.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers on employee relations matters, including coaching, performance management, corrective action, investigations, and conflict resolution.
  • Conduct workplace investigations and administer disciplinary actions and employment terminations in accordance with Mainsail's policies and applicable employment laws.
  • Manage the full‑cycle recruitment process, including sourcing, interviewing, selecting, hiring, and onboarding new associates.
  • Partner with department leaders to identify staffing needs and implement effective recruiting strategies.
  • Coordinate and facilitate new hire orientation, compliance training, leadership development, and other learning initiatives.
  • Ensure timely completion of performance evaluations and coach managers on providing meaningful performance feedback.
  • Interpret and consistently apply company policies, procedures, and employment practices while ensuring legal compliance.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with corporate HR on leave administration, accommodations, benefits, compensation, and other HR initiatives.
  • Support payroll processes by ensuring personnel actions are processed accurately and on time.
  • Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and maintain required workplace postings and records.
  • Plan and execute employee engagement, recognition, wellness, and culture‑building initiatives that promote associate satisfaction and retention.
  • Analyze turnover, staffing, and engagement trends and recommend strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive employee and business information.
  • Perform other Human Resources duties as assigned.
Physical Demand
  • Ability to work on‑site in a hotel environment.
  • Ability to move throughout the property for extended periods, including guest and associate areas.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, reach, and use hands to operate office equipment.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds occasionally.
