Job description

Join to apply for the Human Resources Manager role at Jay Group.

The Human Resources Manager will plan, lead, develop, and coordinate the policies and HR activities for Jay Group, ensuring legal compliance and alignment with the organization’s core values. Responsibilities include managing recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and talent management. The individual will oversee all HR functions across three facilities and be a hands-on member of the HR team at our Corporate Office in Lancaster, PA.

Human Resources Manager Job Responsibilities:

  1. Lead HR activities for Jay Group, supporting all three facilities operating seven days a week with two shifts per day; occasional travel to remote facilities including Reno, NV.
  2. Manage the entire employee lifecycle to enhance the work experience.
  3. Maintain and update strategies related to company policies and procedures.
  4. Provide guidance to management to ensure legal compliance.
  5. Assist HR team and managers in employee relations and conflict resolution.
  6. Ensure employee benefits are competitive; participate in selecting insurance and 401K benefits; support annual ERISA audits.
  7. Manage compensation data and conduct salary analyses for all roles.
  8. Oversee safety and security to maintain a safe work environment.
  9. Negotiate contracts with partners such as recruiting firms, staffing agencies, and HRIS providers.
  10. Provide backup support to HR Generalists as needed.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business Administration preferred.
  2. At least 7 years of progressive HR experience, including 3+ years in leadership roles.
  3. Experience in a warehouse environment is preferred.
  4. Strong professionalism, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
  5. Proficiency in MS Office Suite; experience with HRIS/payroll systems is a plus.
  6. Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Excellent customer service skills.
  8. English and Spanish communication skills are preferred but not required.
  9. SHRM-CP or PHR certification is recommended or a desire to obtain it.
