Qualifications

  • Familiarity with 401(k) administration, benefits enrollment, and payroll processes preferred.
  • Proven collaboration skills with production teams, managers, and leadership.

Job description

The Human Resources Manager role is responsible for supporting the organization’s talent acquisition, employee onboarding, benefits administration, employee development, and retention initiatives. This position will play a key role in building and maintaining a strong workforce by developing recruiting strategies, coordinating career fairs and outreach efforts, administering employee benefits and 401(k) programs, supporting compliance training, and ensuring a positive onboarding experience for new team members.

The position will also partner with the Ohio Talent Pipeline program to strengthen recruitment, retention, employee development, and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain effective recruiting strategies to attract qualified candidates.
  • Coordinate job postings, candidate screening, interviews, background processes, offers, and hiring documentation.
  • Represent the organization at career fairs, workforce-development events, schools, and other recruiting activities.
  • Build relationships with community organizations, workforce partners, and other talent resources to strengthen the candidate pipeline.
  • Track recruiting activity and provide regular updates to leadership regarding open positions, candidate pipelines, hiring progress, and staffing needs.
  • Partner with managers to identify staffing needs and develop effective recruiting approaches.
Onboarding & Employee Development
  • Coordinate and improve the new-hire onboarding process from offer acceptance through successful integration into the organization.
  • Partner with managers to establish new-hire training plans and 30-60-90-day development plans.
  • Coordinate professional growth opportunities, leadership development, and employee training.
  • Maintain organization of recruitment, onboarding, training, and team member development information.
  • Promote a positive work culture through employee engagement events, regular communication, and opportunities for professional development.
  • Support improved performance review practices by helping establish clear goals, expectations, and meaningful feedback.
Benefits & 401(k) Administration
  • Assist team members with benefits enrollment and serve as a resource for questions regarding available benefits.
  • Work regularly with benefits brokers and providers to administer medical and dental programs.
  • Coordinate annual open enrollment activities, employee communications, and enrollment materials.
  • Assist with benefit plan renewals and work with brokers to evaluate plan options and renewal terms.
  • Administer and maintain 401(k) enrollment, employee changes, documentation, and communications in coordination with the organization's plan provider.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee benefits records.
Training, Safety & Compliance
  • Lead and coordinate employee training initiatives across departments.
  • Coordinate drug and alcohol training and support related workplace policies and compliance requirements.
  • Lead safety initiatives and assist with tracking and communicating required training.
  • Maintain accurate training records and ensure employees receive required training in a timely manner.
  • Provide support across departments to promote strategic improvement of HR and operational processes.
  • Develop an action plan with the Ohio Talent Pipeline coach to utilize available resources designed to improve personnel processes and company success.
  • Coordinate with the Ohio Talent Pipeline program coach to implement tools ranging from 30-60-90-day plans to leadership training.
  • Utilize Ohio Talent Pipeline resources to strengthen recruitment, onboarding, employee development, leadership capabilities, and talent retention.
  • Track and communicate progress on Talent Pipeline initiatives and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Payroll & HR Administration
  • Process semi-monthly and weekly payroll accurately and on schedule for team members across departments.
  • Respond to payroll-related inquiries and work to ensure timely and accurate resolution.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential HR records and documentation.
  • Provide HR support across departments and assist leadership with employee-related processes and initiatives.
  • Utilize HRIS systems and other HR tools to maintain accurate employee information and support reporting needs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of HR, recruiting, talent acquisition, or related experience.
  • Experience with recruiting, career fairs, employee onboarding, benefits administration, or employee development preferred.
  • Familiarity with 401(k) administration, benefits enrollment, and payroll processes preferred.
  • Demonstrated positive attitude that contributes to and strengthens company culture.
  • Ability and eagerness to learn new skills and adjust to increased workloads while displaying a helpful and collaborative work ethic.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with production teams, managers, and leadership.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze data and verify that processes meet high-quality standards.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and leadership while demonstrating a strong commitment to teamwork.
  • Familiarity with benefits administration, 401(k) administration, payroll processes, and employment-related training requirements.
  • Desire to continuously develop HR knowledge, improve processes, and contribute to organizational success.
