Job summary

Hanon Systems in Ohio seeks an experienced human resources leader to plan, implement, and evaluate employee relations, policies, programs, and practices. You will oversee compensation, recruitment, benefits, training, and compliance with employment laws.

Day-to-day you will guide a multi-cultural manufacturing HR team, partner with operations, and drive continuous improvements while ensuring a safe, inclusive workplace with minimal travel.

Qualifications

  • 7–10 years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
  • Develops and administers HR plans and procedures for all personnel.
  • Oversees compensation, salary surveys, and merit pool management.

  • Leads recruitment efforts, interviews, offers, and new-employee orientations.
  • Maintains department records and participates in staff meetings and reporting.
  • Evaluates HR initiatives against goals and drives continual improvements.
  • Ensures compliance with employment laws and safe work environment requirements.

Job description

Maintains and enhances the organization's human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Develops and administers various human resources plan and procedures for all company personnel.
  • Plans, organizes and controls all activities of the department. Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems
  • Implements and annually updates the compensation program; rewrites job descriptions as necessary; conducts annual salary surveys and develops merit pool (salary budget); analyzes compensation; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary
  • Develops, recommends and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures; performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, annual re-evaluation of policies for cost-effectiveness, information activities program and cash flow
  • Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 annually; maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations
  • Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt, nonexempt and temporary workers; writes and places advertisements; works with supervisors to screen and interview candidates; conducts reference checking; extends job offers; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career-path program and employee relations counseling; conducts exit interviews
  • Establishes and maintains department records and reports. Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings, such as seminars. Maintains organizational charts and employee directory
  • Evaluates reports, decisions and results of department initiatives in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed
  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws
  • Ensure an environmental health and safe work environment conditions by complying with all Hanon Systems Integrated Management System procedures, standards, and regulations.
Years of Experience
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience, preferably in a manufacturing facility
Degree Preferred
  • College or university degree in Human Resources Management or related field; a graduate degree or professional certification in HR is preferred

  • Experience working in a multi-cultural manufacturing environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills especially written communications
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization and ability to work in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability in resolving employee issues and handling conflict resolution
  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, and HR administration
  • Ability to respond quickly to changing priorities
  • Experience working in a Non-Union Automotive environment
  • The primarily working hours for this position is day shift with the flexibility to provide support for all shifts
  • Very minimal travel; however, the ability to travel domestically and internationally is required
