PangeaTwo is seeking an experienced HR Generalist/Manager to oversee diverse HR functions in Birmingham, AL. You will guide employees and managers on HR matters and drive recruitment, onboarding, benefits, and payroll coordination.

The role requires 3+ years in HR, strong knowledge of employment laws, and a focus on confidential information handling. Onsite work in Birmingham is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of progressive HR experience; experience in an HR Generalist or HR Manager role preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of employment practices, HR policies, and applicable employment laws.
  • Experience with recruiting, employee relations, benefits, performance management, and HR administration.
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently while partnering effectively with employees, managers, and leadership.
  • HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR is preferred.
  • Ability to work onsite in Birmingham, AL.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day HR operations and provide guidance to employees and managers on HR-related matters.
  • Lead recruitment and hiring activities, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, background checks, and offer processes.
  • Coordinate employee onboarding, orientation, and offboarding processes.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel records and HR information.
  • Administer employee benefits, leave programs, and related communications.
  • Support payroll processes by ensuring employee information, changes, and timekeeping records are accurate and timely.
  • Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, handbooks, and related documentation.
  • Handle employee relations matters, including workplace concerns, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance issues.
  • Partner with managers on performance management, coaching, employee development, and corrective action.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Monitor and maintain required employment records and HR documentation.
  • Coordinate employee training and professional development initiatives.
  • Assist with compensation reviews, salary administration, and workforce planning.
  • Prepare HR reports, metrics, and analyses for management.
  • Support employee engagement, retention, recognition, and workplace culture initiatives.
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive employee information.
  • Stay current on HR best practices, employment regulations, and organizational policies

Our growing partner is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable HR Generalist / HR Manager to oversee and support a broad range of human resources functions.
