Job summary

Qualifications

  • B.S. in HR management or business-related field is required.
  • Minimum 3 years direct HR experience; healthcare setting preferred.
  • PHR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate employment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits and training.
  • Develop recruitment events and build relationships with schools and local organizations.
  • Assist in recruitment and retention initiatives.
  • Provide job/benefit/policy information to employees; explain wages and policies.
  • Screen applications and coordinate interviews with managers.
  • Make job offers and manage pre-employment processes for compliance.
  • Administer recruitment documentation including applications and resumes.
  • Facilitate new employee orientation and liaison between management and employees.
  • Partner with management to resolve employee issues and support performance management.
  • Monitor HR compliance, conduct preliminary investigations of policy violations, and maintain records.
  • Maintain HRIS and time/attendance records; train managers on usage.
  • Respond to benefit and payroll-related inquiries; ensure accurate records.
  • Maintain up-to-date electronic employee files (employment, medical, payroll, education).
  • Distribute surveys and evaluations; ensure timely completion.
  • Maintain records and reports on hires, terminations, transfers, performance, and absenteeism.
  • Collect documentation for workers’ comp and safety issues; report concerns.
  • Coordinate unemployment claims with management; assist sister communities as needed.
  • Propose improvements to HR workflows and processes.
  • Perform other duties as directed.

Job description

Summary of Duties

Responsible for Human Resource functions including but not limited to recruiting, new employee orientation, benefits administration, monitoring leaves of absences, workers’ compensation, policies and procedures, and all other employee related events using discretion and independent judgment.

Essential Job Functions
  • Coordinates activities related to employment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits and training.
  • Develops and implements recruitment events such as career fairs that promote visibility of the community and develops relationships with local schools, colleges, universities and key organizations.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of recruitment and retention initiatives.
  • Provides current and prospective employees with information about job responsibilities, wages, benefits and policies.
  • Screens applications for qualified candidates and coordinates interviews with appropriate manager.
  • Makes job offers and initiates the pre-employment process. Manages all aspects of pre-employment process to ensure compliance with policies and procedures and wage and salary guidelines.
  • Administers recruitment documentation including applications, resumes, screening survey results, etc.
  • Facilitates new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward community objectives.
  • Serves as a liaison between management and employees by handling questions and interpreting policy.
  • Partners with management to resolve employee issues.
  • Assists management with the performance management process making recommendations for progressive disciplinary actions. Coordinates completion of records of conference with managers.
  • Monitors human resource compliance, conducting preliminary investigations of reported policy violations. Maintains records of investigated reports.
  • Evaluates recommendations for involuntary employee terminations to ensure all relevant documentation has been collected and termination is appropriate.
  • Administers the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and time and attendance system and maintains accurate records in systems.
  • Collects, reviews, and edits time and attendance data to include approved Paid Annual Leave Requests. Trains managers on the utilization of the time and attendance system.
  • Responds to benefit and payroll-related inquires from employees.
  • Maintains up to date electronic employee files that include employment, medical, payroll, and education records by scanning, importing, and verifying documents into the document imaging system timely and according to established procedures.
  • Distributes employee opinion surveys and performance evaluations to managers according to the established schedule and ensures timely completion.
  • Maintains records and complies statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as hires, terminations, transfers, performance evaluations, and absenteeism.
  • Collects all necessary documentation for reports of work related injuries and monitors workers’ compensation claims. Reports any identified safety concerns to management and makes recommendations for corrective action.
  • Monitors FMLA absences and keeps managers abreast of employees’ return to work status.Coordinates the unemployment claims process with management.
  • Recommends new ideas and workflow procedures to effect continual improvements in the efficiency of the human resources function.
  • Assists with Human Resources/Payroll responsibilities for sister communities on interim basis if business need requires.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as directed.
Education and Experience

B.S. Degree in Human Resources Management or a business related field required. Professional Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred. Minimum of three (3) years direct experience in Human Resources required. Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
