Charter Manufacturing offers a Maintenance Mechanical Engineering Internship in Saukville, WI. Students will gain hands-on experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office while supporting real-world maintenance and engineering projects.

The program is part-time during the academic year and full-time in the summer, starting May 2027, year-round. Ideal candidates are enrolled in a four-year ME/IE/Manufacturing program with a 2.75+ GPA and strong teamwork and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a four-year degree program in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong verbal and written communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Maintenance Mechanical Engineer on hands-on engineering projects.
• Support machine design and equipment upgrades, including part design and plant layout improvements.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on enhancing plant operations, safety, and efficiency.
• Incorporate safety and environmental considerations into equipment and process designs.
• Collaborate with engineers and maintenance teams to support projects from design through implementation.

About the Maintenance Mechanical Engineering Internship :

Gain hands-on experience using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office while supporting real-world maintenance and engineering projects. You’ll build valuable project management, problem-solving, and collaboration skills while learning to work both independently and as part of a team.

Program structure:

• Schedule: Part-time (15-20 hours/week) during the academic year and full-time (40 hours/week) during the summer.
• Location: Saukville, WI
• Start Date: May 2027
• Duration: Year-round internship

What we're looking for:

• Enrollment in a four-year degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
• Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
• Ability to succeed in a team environment.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks.

Preferred experience:

• Advanced Excel and analyst skills.
• AutoCAD experience.
• Exposure to Lean manufacturing and Continuous Improvement Tools.
