Position Scope

The Human Resources Intern will support the Human Resources team across a variety of HR functions while gaining hands‑on experience in a growing organization. This position will provide exposure to recruiting, onboarding, employee records, benefits, HR operations, employee engagement, and HR projects.

Location & Travel:

This is onsite in our West Fargo, ND office.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist the HR team with day‑to‑day administrative tasks and projects.
  • Support new hire onboarding activities, including preparing paperwork, coordinating onboarding materials, and helping ensure a positive new hire experience.
  • Assist with employee file maintenance and organization while maintaining confidentiality of employee information.
  • Help update and maintain employee information within HRIS and other HR systems.
  • Assist with processing employee changes, including new hires, transfers, promotions, and terminations.
  • Support the HR team with benefits‑related administrative tasks, employee communications, and documentation.
  • Assist with I‑9 documentation and other required employment records.
  • Support recruiting and Talent Acquisition activities as needed, including job postings, candidate communication, interview scheduling, career fairs, and recruiting events.
  • Assist with background check and pre‑employment processes.
  • Help coordinate employee engagement, recognition, and company culture initiatives.
  • Assist with employee communications and HR‑related announcements.
  • Support HR reporting, data entry, audits, and other administrative tasks.
  • Assist with offboarding activities and maintaining appropriate documentation.
  • Help organize and maintain HR resources, forms, and process documentation.
  • Participate in HR projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned.
  • Research HR‑related topics, best practices, and employment resources as requested.
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR and Talent Acquisition teams.
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and company information.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Education and Work Experience
  • Currently pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
  • Previous work, internship, campus leadership, customer service, administrative, or recruiting experience is a plus but not required.
  • Interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Take reasonable care of yourself and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day‑to‑day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward the goal of zero injuries.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable learning new systems, software, and processes.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment when handling sensitive information.
  • Professional and approachable communication style.
  • Willingness to learn about different areas of Human Resources
