Human Resources Intern - ICBD - Downtown Fort Lauderdale, FL HQ
Compensation: $18 - $22 /hour + College Credit
Duration: 8-12 weeks
Schedule: 30-40 hours per week – on-site in our Fort Lauderdale Corporate Office Monday-Friday
About the Role
The HR Intern will play an active role in supporting the Human Resources team and gain hands‑on experience across core HR functions. This role offers exposure to real‑time HR operations, including employee inquiries, HR systems, onboarding and offboarding processes, and process improvement initiatives that directly impact the employee experience.
Throughout the internship, the intern will support HR workflows such as help desk ticket intake and coordination, while also contributing to projects focused on employee engagement, communication, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with HR help desk ticket intake, triage, and follow-up for non-sensitive employee inquiries
- Support employee inquiries related to HR processes, policies, and systems, escalating complex or sensitive matters as appropriate
- Monitor and support the ABA HR inbox, ensuring timely responses, proper routing, and follow-up
- Assist with HR actions in UKG, including non‑monetary updates, voluntary terminations, and offboarding coordination (all actions reviewed and submitted by an HR team member)
- Support HRIS activities, including data entry, audits, and tracking HR actions for accuracy
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, including document tracking and coordination
- Maintain and update employee records and HR documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Assist with reporting and tracking HR metrics, help desk tickets, and requests to support data accuracy and operational insights
- Contribute to documenting and improving HR processes and workflows
- Support initiatives related to HR operations, process standardization, and service delivery improvements
- Support employee engagement initiatives, communications, and program coordination
- Assist with organizing HR policies, procedures, and internal resources
- Support special projects related to HR programs, operations, and process improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field
- Strong interest in HR operations, employee experience, or people data
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel preferred
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Willingness to complete onboarding requirements, including background screening and NDA
Internship Requirements
- Must be eligible to receive academic credit through an accredited college or university
- Documentation from the academic institution may be required prior to the start of the internship
- Internship schedule: Monday through Friday, up to 5 hours per day (schedule to be coordinated with academic requirements)
