Arkansas Talent Group is exclusively partnering with a small but fast-growing business for an HR /Office Manager. This position will be a mix of duties and will be a key operational leader responsible for managing core Human Resources functions, including payroll and benefits administration, office operations, accounts payable duties, month-end financial support, facilities coordination, employee communications, and other administrative functions based on the needs of the business.
This position serves as a trusted resource to leadership and employees, ensuring that people processes, administrative systems, and office operations are organized, accurate, timely, compliant, and employee-centered. The HR/Office Manager supports a growing team under 50 employees.
The successful candidate is highly organized, confidential, solution-oriented, adaptable, confident, and knowledgeable in HR. This individual can manage competing deadlines, take ownership of recurring processes, and proactively identify practical ways to improve the employee and operational/administrative experience as they continue to grow. Job Responsibilities:
Human Resources/Recruitment:
- Manage and coordinate full-cycle HR administration, including recruitment support, candidate communication, interview coordination, offer preparation, new-hire onboarding, employee changes, personnel records, and offboarding.
- Partner with leadership and hiring managers to support recruiting needs, schedule interviews, prepare hiring documentation, and ensure a professional candidate experience.
- Coordinate new-hire onboarding activities, including required employment paperwork, Paylocity setup, policy acknowledgements, orientation planning, benefit enrollment support, training coordination, and first-day readiness.
- Maintain accurate, secure, and confidential employee personnel files, employment records, HR documentation, and related reports.
- Administer and coordinate employee benefit programs, including health insurance, HSA, life insurance, retirement/401(k) benefits, benefit enrollment, qualifying life events, vendor communication, and employee questions.
- Coordinate payroll administration through Paylocity, including employee updates, payroll review, timekeeping support, payroll-related troubleshooting, and employee communication.
Office Operations/Administrative Management
- Oversee day-to-day administrative operations to ensure the office remains organized, well supplied, responsive, professional, and prepared to support employees and clients.
- Supervise the Administrative Staff, including workflow delegation and task prioritization,
- Establish and improve clear administrative workflows, procedures, and ownership standards for office support activities.
- Maintain organized shared files, templates, administrative records, and document-control practices.
Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Month-End Support
- Manage and coordinate day-to-day accounts payable activities, including receiving, reviewing, organizing, coding, and routing vendor invoices for approval.
- Use QuickBooks and related systems to maintain accurate accounts payable records, invoice documentation, vendor files, expense support, and payment-status tracking.
- Prepare checks and coordinate timely payment of approved vendor invoices, reimbursements, and company obligations in accordance with company approval procedures and payment schedules.
- Assist CPA with month-end financial activities by ensuring invoices are entered and properly coded, gathering documentation, reviewing vendor statements, tracking outstanding invoices, and identifying items requiring follow-up.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting and AP workflows, strengthen documentation standards, reduce payment delays, and transition appropriate financial-administrative work from leadership or outside advisors into efficient internal processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, Communications, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
- 5+ years of HR Generalist experience preferred
- Extensive recruitment experience with hourly service employees
- Prior supervisory, team-lead, or office-management experience.
- Experience managing benefits, 401(k) coordination, HSA administration, life insurance administration, and payroll-related employee support.
- Experience with QuickBooks and Accounts payable is highly desired.
- Experience working in a small or growing business where responsibilities span multiple areas of the business.
