Job summary

Comrise is seeking an HR Generalist in Baldwin Park, CA to manage onboarding/offboarding, I-9 verification, and exit procedures. You will be the first contact for policy questions, maintain confidential HRIS records, and assist with payroll, benefits, and leave administration.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of progressive HR Generalist or related HR experience.
• Solid working knowledge of California employment and labor laws.
• Experience supporting onboarding, benefits, leave administration, and HR compliance.

Responsibilities

• Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, including offer letters, new-hire documentation, I-9 verification, and exit procedures.
• Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions regarding policies, benefits, leave, and workplace concerns.
• Support employee relations matters, conduct initial fact-finding, and escalate sensitive issues appropriately.
• Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data while protecting confidential information.
• Assist with payroll, benefits enrollment, leave administration, and workers’ compensation coordination.
• Ensure HR policies and practices comply with California labor laws, including wage-and-hour, meal/rest breaks, paid sick leave, leave of absence, and personnel-file requirements.
• Support performance review, training, engagement, and workplace culture initiatives.
• Help update employee handbooks, HR policies, and compliance postings as needed.
