Job summary

AVAILABILITY Professional Staffing is partnering with an established organization in California to recruit a Human Resources Generalist who will impact every stage of the employee experience. You will support recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits, compliance, performance management and HR initiatives.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in HR, strong knowledge of California employment laws, excellent communication, and the ability to handle confidential information with integrity.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Human Resources experience.
• Strong knowledge of California employment laws and HR best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to manage confidential information with integrity.
• Experience in a union environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead full-cycle recruiting, onboarding, and employee lifecycle activities.
• Support employee relations while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
• Assist with HR compliance, reporting, and labor relations.
• Coordinate performance reviews, job descriptions, and compensation administration.
• Partner with leaders to strengthen employee engagement and organizational culture.
• Support HR process improvements, special projects, and business growth initiatives.

Education

Bachelor's degree and HR certifications (SHRM-CP, PHR, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or PHRca) preferred
