The Bruning Law Firm is seeking an HR Generalist to provide day-to-day HR support across core functions. You will work closely with the HR Manager to administer HR programs, maintain records, ensure compliance, and deliver timely service to employees.
Responsibilities include recruitment support, onboarding/offboarding, payroll & benefits administration, records/compliance, and general HR projects. The role emphasizes confidentiality, prioritization, and systems-minded processes.
We are seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to join our team. In this role, you will provide day-to-day HR support across a variety of core functions. Working closely with the HR Manager, you will help administer HR programs, maintain accurate records, ensure compliance, and deliver responsive, high-quality service to our employees.
You will manage the end-to-end recruitment cycle by posting open positions on approved job boards and the company website. Your duties include screening resumes, conducting initial candidate screenings, coordinating interviews with hiring managers, preparing offer letter templates and new-hire packets, and managing background checks and reference verifications.
You will oversee the employee lifecycle transition points by preparing orientation materials and coordinating first-day logistics. This includes completing I-9 verification, maintaining E-Verify and workplace poster compliance, and inputting new-hire data into the HRIS. Additionally, you will handle separations by collecting equipment, revoking system access, preparing separation paperwork, conducting exit interviews, and compiling feedback for the HR Manager.
You will serve as a primary resource for employees regarding benefits enrollment, qualifying life event changes, and general inquiries about PTO, holidays, and company policies. You will track FMLA and leave usage using designated spreadsheets, notify carriers of updates, and provide hands-on assistance to the HR Manager with payroll preparation and processing.
You will maintain accurate and organized digital and physical employee files in alignment with retention policies. Your responsibilities include auditing personnel files for completeness, flagging discrepancies for the HR Manager, assisting with compliance filings such as the EEO-1 and OSHA 300 logs, preparing for audits, and updating policy documents and the employee handbook as directed.
You will draft internal communications, memos, and announcements under the guidance of the HR Manager and respond to employment verification requests. You will also manage Trainual content, provide platform support to all staff members, oversee special employee milestones and recognition programs, manage newsletters, and handle other HR projects and duties as assigned.
