Job summary

Sunrise Retirement Community seeks an experienced Human Resources Director to lead all HR functions for our senior living community. This role partners with leadership to support staff while ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.

The Director will drive recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits, and policy development, while maintaining confidential records and fostering a positive workplace culture across administration and care teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
• Experience in healthcare, long-term care, or a regulated environment is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HR principles, employment laws, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead recruitment, onboarding, and pre-employment screening for all positions.
• Advise employees and managers on relations, performance, attendance, and policy issues.
• Develop and maintain HR policies, handbook, and procedures.

This position serves as the primary HR resource for employees, supervisors, managers, and administration and works closely with leadership to support our employees while ensuring compliance with applicable employment laws and regulatory requirements.**What You’ll Do** The Human Resources Director will be responsible for a broad range of HR functions, including:* Lead recruitment and hiring for all positions, including job postings, applicant screening, interviews, references, offers, and pre-employment requirements.* Serve as a resource to employees and managers regarding employee relations, performance concerns, attendance, disciplinary matters, workplace issues, and policy interpretation.* Coordinate new employee orientation, onboarding, required documentation, and pre-employment screenings.* Maintain accurate, confidential personnel records, job descriptions, employee information, and HR documentation.* Coordinate employee benefits and serve as a resource to employees regarding benefit questions, enrollment, and changes.* Monitor compliance with employment laws, DIAL requirements, required screenings, employee licensure and certifications, training, and other regulatory requirements.* Coordinate workers’ compensation and unemployment claims and assist with return-to-work processes.* Track required employee training, certifications, performance evaluations, and other compliance requirements.* Develop, review, and maintain HR policies, procedures, forms, and employee handbook materials.* Support employee engagement, recognition, retention, and morale initiatives.* Prepare HR reports and provide workforce-related information and recommendations to administration.* Maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive employee and organizational matters.**Why Sunrise?** This is an opportunity to serve as a key member of the Sunrise leadership team while supporting the people who provide care and services to our residents every day. Equivalent education, training, and experience may be considered.
