Job summary

St. Anne’s Family Services in Los Angeles, CA seeks an HR Generalist to partner with managers and staff on HR policies, performance, and workforce needs.

The role supports a positive workplace culture across departments, with a hybrid schedule and a 9/80 work arrangement. You’ll conduct investigations, coordinate orientation and training, maintain HRIS records, and help ensure compliance with federal and state laws.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR or related field required.
• 3–4 years HR experience; OR SHRM/PHR certification with 2 years HR experience.
• Knowledge of federal and state labor laws preferred.
• Experience in non-profit/government organizations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Address employee concerns and facilitate positive communication between staff and management.
• Assist with workplace investigations ensuring confidentiality and compliance.
• Plan and conduct New Hire Orientation to acquaint employees with culture and policies.
• Coordinate learning opportunities, mandatory training, and professional development.
• Support compliance trainings and organization-wide training rollouts.
• Contribute to HR functions: performance management, compliance monitoring, and HRIS records.

The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.Role Summary: The HR Generalist serves as a strategic partner to managers and staff by providing consultation, guidance, and support on HR policies, performance, and workforce needs. They help ensure alignment between organizational goals and the needs of employees and management across assigned departments. The role collaborates across the HR team to deliver responsive, value-added HR services that strengthen organizational effectiveness and promote a positive workplace culture.Schedule: Monday- Friday, 9am-6:00pm or 10am-7:00pm with a rotating Friday off! (9/80 Flex)Location: 155 N Occidental Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90026Duties and Responsibilities:Address employee concerns, facilitate positive communication between staff and management, and provide guidance on policies, workplace issues, and performance expectationsAssist with conducting and documenting workplace investigations while ensuring confidentiality, fairness, and compliance with applicable laws and agency policiesPlan and facilitate engaging New Hire Orientation sessions that introduce new employees to the organization’s culture, policies, and operational proceduresCoordinate learning opportunities, mandatory training, and professional development initiatives. Ensure completion of compliance-related trainings (e.g., safety, harassment prevention), including providing support for department-specific or organization-wide training rollouts.Support engagement initiatives by identifying workplace trends, gathering employee feedback, and partnering with leadership to enhance organizational cultureSupport a variety of HR functions, such as, performance management, compliance monitoring, and maintaining accurate HRIS recordsQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or relevant field required-AND-3-4 years’ experience in Human Resources-OR-SHRM/PHR certification + 2 years’ experience in Human Resources-PLUS-Knowledge of federal and state labor laws preferredExperience in non-profit and government organizations is strongly preferredSt. Anne's Family Services is an equal opportunity employer and encourages candidates from all backgrounds to apply!
