Job summary

Master's Transportation is seeking an HR Generalist to manage day-to-day HR operations at our Kansas City headquarters. This 100% onsite role handles recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, HRIS administration, compliance, and communications while supporting managers and staff.

You’ll be a resource to employees, protect confidentiality, and drive process improvements with the Director of Human Resources.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 2 years in a relevant HR role
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and HRIS administration
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Administer and support the HRIS, maintain accurate employee information and processes
  • Lead talent acquisition activities with hiring managers and onboarding
  • Develop and communicate HR policies, ensure regulatory compliance
  • Serve as daily HR resource for employees and managers, escalate complex issues

Job Summary:

The Human Resources Generalist supports day-to-day Human Resources operations, with primary responsibility for recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, HRIS administration, compliance support, employee communications, recordkeeping, and departmental coordination. The Generalist serves as a resource to employees and managers, identifies opportunities to improve HR processes and the employee experience, and assists with department initiatives and projects under the direction of the Director of Human Resources.

Essential Functions:
  • Administer and support the company’s HRIS platform, including maintaining accurate employee information, assisting users, supporting system processes, and identifying opportunities to improve system utilization.
  • Manage talent acquisition for assigned departments in partnership with hiring managers, including recruitment planning, candidate screening, selection support, and hiring coordination.
  • Support the development, communication, and consistent administration of Human Resources policies and practices while monitoring applicable employment laws, regulatory changes, industry trends, and recommended best practices.
  • Serve as a day-to-day Human Resources resource to applicants, employees, managers, and supervisors by addressing routine employment matters, providing guidance on established practices, and escalating complex, sensitive, or high-risk issues to the Director of Human Resources.
  • Coordinate employee lifecycle activities for assigned departments, including onboarding, employment changes, leave and benefit support, required documentation, and offboarding.
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Effectively and responsibly use modern technology and artificial intelligence tools, including Microsoft Copilot, to improve productivity, streamline HR processes, support informed decision-making, and enhance the employee experience while maintaining confidentiality and data security.
  • Coordinate recurring Human Resources processes, employee communications, documentation, and follow-up to ensure timely, accurate, and consistent completion across assigned areas.
  • Compile, review, and maintain Human Resources data, reports, and documentation to support operational decisions, compliance requirements, and department priorities.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.Possesses integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

May train/mentor administrative staff in the department.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

Required Education/Experience/Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related, or equivalent years of experience in a relevant role.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a relevant HR role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and with the administration of HRIS platforms.
  • High level of written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Education/Experience/Certifications:

  • Human Resources certification, i.e., SHRM-CP, PHR or equivalent
  • Compensation management and payroll administration knowledge and/or experience

Travel Requirements:

Less than 5%
