Great Western Dining Service is seeking a Human Resource Generalist to support the HR department lifecycle. The role covers onboarding, payroll support, compliance, and employee relations to ensure accurate records and efficient processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• At least one year of human resource management experience preferred.
• PHR certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manages onboarding and background checks, and handles employee eligibility verifications.
• Processes separations/status changes in HRIS/Payroll system and maintains records.
• Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
• Provides support on payroll processing, direct deposits, tax changes.
• Responds to inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors.
• Assists with development and implementation of HR policies and logs.

Human Resource Generalist

The Human Resource Generalist will support the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department. They will have a broad knowledge of HR functions during the entire life cycle of the employee’s employment.

Responsibilities

• Manages the onboarding process and documentation. Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
• Process separations/status changes from organization in HRIS/Payroll system.
• Manages HRIS/Payroll system including changes in access for employees
• Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form.
• Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave administration.
• Assist with payroll processing. Responsible for Direct Deposit, Rapid Cards and employee tax changes.
• Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
• Support internal and external inquiries and requests related to Human Resources.
• Generates correspondence for employees as needed.
• Provide support to employees in various HR related topics such as leaves, time and attendance, benefits, and HRIS/Payroll system.
• Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
• Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
• Assist in development and implementation of human resources policies.
• Develop and maintain various logs and other record-keeping systems.
• Performs other HR generalist and clerical duties as assigned.

• Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
• At least one year of human resource management experience preferred.
• PHR a plus.
