Humanaut Health is a health optimization and longevity clinic helping men and women live vibrantly for decades. Our members are "midlife navigators" and health enthusiasts seeking innovative solutions for aging-related concerns such as pain, energy, weight, activity levels, appearance, perimenopause, and sexual health, as well as disease prevention.
We meet these needs with an integrative approach and a human touch. Licensed medical providers translate comprehensive assessments and personal goals into personalized care plans focused on optimal health. Plans may include traditional, hormone, peptide, regenerative, and lifestyle medicine. Care is delivered in person at our state-of-the-art clinics and supported through telemedicine and digital tools. We operate clinics in Austin, TX, Dallas, TX, and Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and we plan to open 100 clinics over the next four years.
Job Description:
The HR Generalist & Recruiter is Humanaut's only dedicated HR role. You'll own day-to-day HR for a growing, multi-site healthcare company and be the person employees and managers across our clinics come to first. You'll handle employee relations, payroll, benefits and leave, onboarding, HR compliance and HR operations, working closely with our Chief Operating Officer and bringing them the issues that need their judgment or approval.
You'll also support recruiting. Today, our COO and hiring managers lead hiring decisions. You'll keep searches organized and moving by posting roles, screening candidates, coordinating interviews and handling offers and pre-hire checks. As we open new clinics and hiring picks up, you'll take on more ownership of recruiting, up to full-cycle searches. We expect 15-30 hires a year. About 70% of our hiring is clinical (nurse practitioners, registered nurses, medical assistants and clinic staff), and the rest covers sales, marketing, operations and administrative roles.
This role is based in Austin, Texas, and supports our other clinics remotely. Occasional travel may be required.
Key Responsibilities: HR Generalist
This is the core of the role. There is no other HR staff to share day-to-day HR work.
Employee relations
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee and manager questions and concerns across all clinics
- Advise managers on performance conversations, documentation and corrective action, applying company policy consistently
- Take in employee complaints, assess the issue and elevate to the COO when needed; conduct or support workplace investigations
- Identify patterns in employee concerns or turnover and recommend actions to address them
Payroll
- Process payroll for all clinics through Justworks, from collecting hours and changes through final review and approval
- Review timecards for non-exempt clinical and front desk staff, and make sure overtime, meal breaks, and PTO are recorded and paid correctly
- Enter new hires, pay changes, terminations, and bonuses accurately and on time, and process final pay according to each state's deadlines
- Calculate and process variable pay, such as bonuses and incentives, in partnership with FinanceI
- Answer employee questions about pay, deductions, and tax withholding; investigate discrepancies and fix errors quickly with the PEO
- Support year-end tasks, audits, and payroll reporting for the COO and Finance
Benefits & leave
- Guide employees through benefits enrollment, life events and plan questions in partnership with our PEO
- Administer leaves of absence (parental leave, state leave, ADA accommodation requests), including eligibility review, documentation and return-to-work coordination
Onboarding & offboarding
- Lead new hire orientation and first-week onboarding for employees across all clinics
- Conduct 30-, 60- and 90-day check-ins with new hires, and flag early retention or performance concerns
- Manage offboarding, including exit interviews, and share themes with the COO
HR operations & compliance
- Maintain accurate employee records in Justworks and our HR systems, and support the selection and rollout of new HR tools
- Keep required postings, policy acknowledgments and compliance training current across multiple states
- Write and maintain HR processes and SOPs that keep our clinics consistent as we grow
- Help update the employee handbook and HR policies as the company expands into new states
- Support manager training and culture initiatives as the team grows
Our COO and hiring managers lead recruiting today. You'll support their searches, and your ownership will grow toward full-cycle recruiting as we open more clinics.
From day one
- Post open roles and manage candidate records and pipeline data
- Screen applicants against role requirements and recommend who should advance to hiring manager interviews
- Schedule interviews and keep candidates informed through each stage
- Verify licensure, certifications and references for clinical candidates, and coordinate background checks
- Prepare and extend offers within approved compensation ranges, and flag to the COO when a candidate's expectations fall outside the range
- Hand accepted candidates off smoothly into onboarding
As the role grows
- Lead intake meetings with hiring managers to confirm role requirements, must-have qualifications and timelines
- Build sourcing plans using job boards, professional networks, nursing and NP programs, referrals and direct outreach
- Build ongoing candidate pipelines for hard-to-fill clinical roles, especially NPs and RNs
- Track and report recruiting metrics (time to fill, source of hire, offer acceptance rate) and recommend improvements

- Generous paid time off (PTO) and company holidays
- Group medical, dental and vision insurance
- 401(k) and company-paid life insurance
- Substantial employee-only membership and service discounts to ensure our team can fully experience the benefits of health optimization firsthand
Compensation: $70,000 to $90,000, depending on experience.
